İBRAHİM ÖZSÖZGÜN

In his paintings, he focuses on the stories of the people he focuses on in urban life. In this focus, the psychological states of the figures come to the fore. While space loses its importance in his works, which usually feature a single figure, he is interested in making visible the spiritual meaning of the figure in the centre. Figures and plastic values are also shaped to emphasise this narrative.

In the artist's practice, light-shadow arrangements and the monochrome colour palette he uses create a dramatic atmosphere. In addition to his observations of the outside world, the artist's own world is revealed as self-portraits. Özsözgün thus builds strong visual bridges between the inner and outer worlds.

Born in Diyarbakır in 1994, İbrahim Özsözgün graduated from Ankara Anadolu Fine Arts High School, and in 2012, he was accepted into the Painting Department at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, where he graduated in 2017. He began his master's degree in the same department in 2018 and completed it in 2021. Özsözgün continues his work in Istanbul.
