KAIROS is proud to present  the exhibition ‘The Century of Pera Prologue: Lost Time’ between 12-30 November 2024, in which 17 artists focus on 19th century Pera through the concept of time.

Time is undoubtedly where human existence, the first relationship with life, begins and the last relationship with life ends. In fact, human existence begins and ends in time. Time envelops all existence, so that both creation and destruction take place in it. But its existence is elusive. Just as we cannot separate the infinite number of water particles moving in the river, we cannot disrupt this unity by separating them. It must flow continuously and endlessly, both forward and backward. From this point of view, what is the importance of the particle?

Lost Time is made up of three main sections that refer to the before, the present and the after of this becoming. This sense of becoming, intuitively approached by the artists, bifurcates with the alternative realities they create and touches the eyes of the viewer with the power of the image. In the current conditions of the world we live in, it may not be possible to see a river flowing in two opposite directions, but this narrative will unfold before our eyes if we listen deeply. The Century of Pera: Lost Time' exhibition can be visited between 12th and 30th November 2024 from Tuesday to Saturday between 12.00-19.00.
