ARTSHOW

KAIROS is pleased to announce PES, Kazım Şimşek’s third solo exhibition.

PES constitutes the final chapter of a trilogy formed together with the artist’s previous exhibitions Moral and Resistance. Shaped along the axes of time and memory, this trilogy examines the modes of existence developed by the human subject under economic, political, and psychological siege through a long-term process of reflection.

Positioned not as an exclamation but as a threshold, PES focuses on a state in which exertion has lost its meaning and the individual is confronted with their own limits. The exhibition addresses the mental states of a human being who is increasingly isolated, surrounded by fear, and compelled to relate to the world through objects.

While Moral, the first part of the trilogy, concentrates on the visible effects of political economy on social classes, Resistance explores the inner conflicts and existential struggle of the individual isolated by fear within this structure. PES, standing at a zero point that carries both past and future within itself, renders visible the uncertainty between the dissolution of the old world and the emergence of the new.

The exhibition can be viewed between 12–15 February at the ARTSHOW Galleries Meeting, held for its second edition this year, at Stand A3.

Address: 2PLAN TERMINAL, Etiler Arnavutköy Road No: 3 34337 Beşiktaş / Istanbul
