KAZIM ŞİMŞEK

Kazım Şimşek (1987, Ankara) After receiving education at Hacettepe University Fine Arts Faculty Sculpture Department for one year between 2006-2007, he completed his undergraduate education at the same faculty’s Painting Department between 2007-2012. Şimşek, who started his master’s education at Hacettepe University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Painting Department in 2016, completed his master’s degree in 2019 by writing her thesis titled “How Artworks Represent Social Classes”. His first solo exhibition “Moral” opened in 2022 at Evliyagil Dolapdere and his second solo show ‘Resistance’ opened in 2024 at KAIROS. Group exhibitions and projects in which the artist took part include 2012, “Reality Terror”, TTütün Deposu, Istanbul, 2013, “As We Are”, Gallery Zilberman Istanbul, 2017, “The Same Garden”, Evliyagil Museum, Ankara, 2019, “Paper”, Pilevneli Project, Istanbul, 2018, “Shaken Image”, Pera Museum, Istanbul, 2020, “Crystal Chateau”, Evliyagil Museum, Ankara, 2020, Mamut Art Project, Istanbul, 2021 “Wizard and The Garden”, Ankara , 2022, “Reimage: Morning After Dark”, Gallery Kairos, İstanbul stand out. He took part in the exhibition called 'New Lands' at Arkas Sanat Alaçatı, which brought together nearly 150 artists. The artist continues to live and produce in Ankara.
