The Childhood Throne
Can İncekara

KAIROS is pleased to present Can Incekara's third solo exhibition, The Childhood Throne, from May 9 to June 15, 2024.

Can İncekara takes the images embedded in the memory of everyday objects on a journey from the personal memory where they reside to the sense of social memory. He not only presents the feeling of longing that nostalgia evokes in the individual in a melancholic and sad framework but also ironically reflects to the viewer the absurdity of being stuck in the past and not being able to catch it. Using the watercolor technique, he processes the images in detail, referring to the fluidity of memory. Patterns and objects that evoke personal experiences evoke the collective, they are now part of a shared memory. The Childhood Throne is the artist's deep look into the entire perception of childhood. The exhibition invites the viewer to come to terms with the memory of a game surrounded by adults.
