ÜMMÜHAN YÖRÜK
Ümmühan Yörük graduated from Hacettepe University Fine Arts Faculty Painting Department in 2012. After graduating from Gazi University Painting Department in 2017, she started the Proficiency in Art program in Hacettepe University Painting Department in the same year. The artist opened her first solo exhibition in 2011 at the METU Library Exhibition Hall. Her second solo exhibition “Nearness at a Distance” was held in 2012, and her third solo exhibition “Future” took place in 2015, both at Piartworks Gallery. Her most recent solo exhibition “Scenery Within” was held at Evliyagil Dolapdere. Ümmühan Yörük’s works, which have also appeared in various group exhibitions, have been exhibited since 2010 in shows such as “Shaken Image” at Pera Museum, “Middle East” at METU Culture and Congress Center, and “Crystal Chateau” & “Haunted by Faces” at Evliyagil Museum. In 2022, two of her works were included in the exhibition “Reimage: Morning After Dark” at Kairos Gallery. In 2024, her duet exhibition with Can Akgümüş titled “Silhouettes of Time: The Transient Grace of Vanishing Keepsakes” was presented at Barınhan, Istanbul. That same year, she also took part in the group exhibitions “The Century of Pera, Prologue: The Lost Time” and “3” at Kairos Gallery. In 2025, she participated in the exhibition “Corpora” at Kairos Gallery, Istanbul.
She works as a lecturer at METU Music and Fine Arts Department.
