CORPORA
KAIROS
07.03.-28.03.2025
Opening: 07 March Friday,

KAIROS is pleased to host the exhibition 'Corpora' curated by Burçak Yakıcı, between March 07 - 28, 2025 with the participation of 14 artists, a dialogue in which meaning is constantly reproduced, normative structures are questioned and new discourses emerge.
Inspired by translator and author Helen Vassallo’s vision of translation as an act of intersectional activism and transformative potential, “Corpora” positions translation not merely as a process of transmission but as a solidarity practice that expands the spaces of resistance through language in art, revealing how intersectional feminist struggle is amplified. Derived from the Latin word meaning "bodies," “Corpora” also signifies a collection of texts gathered for linguistic research.
Translation is more than a simple transfer from one language to another; like artistic practice, it is a process in which meaning is continuously re-produced, transformed, and re-imagined. This evolution enables the exhibition to bring together resistance experiences and productions based on sensory and social interactions that challenge normative body perceptions, creating an inclusive space where diverse narratives find expression. Corpora invites the viewer to experience the power of creativity and resistance of both disciplines by considering the artists' productions and their powerful use of language as a reflection of the act of translation. “Corpora” exhibition will be on view between 07- 28 March 2025 from Tuesday to Saturday between 12.00-19.00.
