MENA GUERRERO

(b.1996, Guatemala) Mena Guerrero is a transdisciplinary artist trained as a jazz singer at Maastricht Conservatorium and holding a liberal art bachelor in transdisciplinary arts from Francisco Marroquín University. Her work has been exhibited in Guatemala, Germany, The Netherlands, Turkey, and Indonesia. In 2022, she received Beca Flotador and first prize for Galería Abierta by El Centro Cultural Municipal. Currently an artist in residency at Fondation Fiminco in Paris, Mena’s practice is driven by intuition and sensory experience, transforming personal encounters into poetic, symbolic, and erotic environments. Her work centers on the body as an interconnected organism, inviting embodied experiences and encouraging viewers to reconsider their relationship with themselves, nature, and the world. Through this, she aims to turn personal experiences into universal symbols, creating spaces where self and other blur, so that new possibilities of building relationships and kinships emerge .
